Think postcard-perfect wooden chalets, delightful lanes full of boutiques, and olde worlde Swiss charm snuggled up alongside some of the country's most impressive peaks, and you are thinking of a place just like Gstaad. It might be known as the playground to one of Switzerland's biggest ski areas and noted for its world-class restaurants, but Gstaad also boasts some truly memorable cycling.
And Emmental needs no introduction, surely? The rich, nutty cheese has been produced here in the Emme Valley for centuries. But what you might not know is the same low hills that make for perfect cow grazing (and therefore perfect Emmental cheese!) are also mighty fine for cycling.

On this our fifth episode of Dave and Keir's biking adventures through Switzerland we get to know the Col du Pillon, Col des Mosses, Mittelbergpass, and Jaunpass. Just remember if you come here, you absolutely must indulge in an authentic local fondue. Maybe don't do that mid-ride (there's plenty of cafes to keep you fueled on more bike-friendly food) but treat yourself after. Did someone say crusty bread dunked in a pot of boozy cheese? We think you deserve it!
